Ziphone is an open source, completely free tool to jailbreak and unlock Iphone and Ipods. It is an all-in-one solution to simplify your life.

It mainly uses a 1-pass method to stuff the iPhone ramdisk, allowing jailbreaking to occur. In earlier versions 2.0 and 2.6, this caused memory corruption, leading to grayed out wi-fi or bluetooth. This problem has been remedied in the free ziphone 3.0.

Ziphone will downgrade your bootloader automatically to 3.9, and that can be updated using Bootneuter. This will save your iPhone from having a voided warranty in case of any problems. If your boot-loader is downgraded, and your OTB is 1.1.2, use Bootneuter to upgrade.

Edit: It’s a bummer since ziPhone stopped working a couple of months ago. I’ve come across this newer jailbreak/unlock software called “Automatic Iphone Unlockers” and it has been working perfectly for me ever since ziPhone stopped working.

It is the best and easiest tool I have ever come across in jailbreaking my Iphone. I’ve also used it to unlock a handful of my friends Iphones, and is much safer than ziphone because it uses a 2-pass method.

I’ll get more into the details on a later date, but definately check out their website for details.
